Always Have Your Rules

Traveling Is a Way to Expand Your Own Horizon

If you’re reading this post, maybe you already know who I am—Fernando Raymond, a digital nomad and entrepreneur, founder of two powerful digital agencies: ClickDo and SeekAhost. I mention this to show that my lifestyle, both in business and personally, is deeply connected to travel.

And honestly, I love it. I encourage everyone to take time for travel. Of course, traveling serves different purposes—whether you want to visit an exotic country you might never see again, or find your favorite spots to keep coming back to. These places should inspire you, connect with your passions, and blend seamlessly into your work or business life.

No matter the reason, travel will charge your energy and broaden your perspective. You’ll gain experience and enrich your understanding of the world around you. The world may seem big, but today, reaching any destination is more accessible than ever. Distance is no longer a barrier—in fact, it’s almost the opposite.

Travel opens doors, sparks ideas, and helps you grow in ways you never imagined. That’s the true power of exploring new places and making them a part of your life.

Places Ipacts Your Lifestyle

How Do the Places You Choose to Visit Influence Your Lifestyle?

Often, we don’t stop to think about how the places we visit actually shape our lives. We pick destinations based on our current desires, budget, or specific goals. But here’s what I want to share: if you aim for a higher standard of living, you can intentionally choose places that align with that goal.

Why do I say this? Because I’ve done it myself—and I keep doing it—and I see firsthand how much impact it has. It’s part of your personal manifesto for your life.

Let me give you a simple example. If you want to live on a higher level, then focus on visiting destinations that reflect that lifestyle. By surrounding yourself with certain environments, you’re consciously directing your thoughts and actions toward the life you want to create.

Of course, visiting a place alone isn’t enough. It’s not a magic trick—simply going to Denmark, for example, won’t suddenly elevate your life. You still need to work hard, follow your goals, and stay committed. But think about it: if you’re in a country with a high standard of living, everything around you encourages you to be more productive, to work smarter, and to aim higher.

So, choose destinations that match your vision for your lifestyle. Be where your dreams are taking you. Live the life you want, and take steps every day to make it happen.

Remember, your environment influences you just as much as the people around you. The places you spend your time in—and the company you keep—shape your mindset and your habits. Be deliberate in your choices, because they will define the person you become.

Switzerland – High Standards and Limitless Opportunities

To make this real, I want to share my recent trip to a country that embodies high standards—Switzerland.
Switzerland is a land of precision—from its watches to its trains, everything here is crafted down to the tiniest detail. It’s beautiful and immersed in luxury, but at a price that feels accessible because the overall standard of living is exceptional.

This environment isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about mindset. When you’re in a place that embodies perfection and excellence, you become part of that energy—a quest for quality in everything you do.

So, let me walk you through my trip to this incredible country, one I visit at least once a year. I arrived in Geneva on June 14, 2025, after a quick flight from London Heathrow. A two-hour, fifteen-minute drive later, I found myself in Grindelwald— a postcard-perfect village nestled beneath the towering Eiger’s north face.

Geneva – Clean, Luxurious, and Full of Opportunities

When you step into Geneva, you immediately notice one thing—the city is spotless. Everything is pristine, from the streets to the parks, reflecting a culture that values cleanliness and order. This isn’t just a coincidence. it’s part of the city’s DNA.

And then there’s the luxury. Geneva is a playground for high-end brands—Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Chanel—you name it. The shops are sleek, the windows are dazzling, and the vibe screams “luxury lifestyle.” You’ll see expensive cars cruising by all the time—Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentley. These aren’t just cars; they’re symbols of success and prestige, reminders that in Geneva, everything is elevated.

But here’s the point—being in such an environment influences your mindset. When you surround yourself with excellence, quality, and high standards, it naturally pushes you to elevate your own game. Whether you’re shopping, networking, or simply walking the streets, you can’t help but get inspired to aim higher, work smarter, and live better.

And that’s exactly how the places you visit shape your lifestyle. They don’t just inspire, they change your perspective, push your limits, and motivate you to reach for more. Because the environment you put yourself in becomes a mirror of what you believe is possible for your life.

Why Grindelwald?

Because it offers the best of both worlds: breathtaking alpine scenery and Wi-Fi strong enough to keep SeekaHost’s servers humming. This Swiss lifestyle—clean air, pristine landscapes, and a culture that values efficiency—shouts “work smart, live well.”

But let’s keep it real: paradise doesn’t come cheap. A coffee at a mountain café can cost around 6 CHF (£5), and a night at a top hotel isn’t pocket change. However, if you’ve got the resources, it’s worth every penny. The experience, and most importantly, the mindset it cultivates, are priceless.

In the end, the goal isn’t just the luxury itself. It’s about elevating your standards—setting your environment to inspire productivity, creativity, and growth. Because the truth is, where you choose to be heavily influences how you live and what you believe is possible.

Which Places Did I Visit While Working and Embracing the Surrounding Environment?

As I mentioned earlier, I started my trip in Grindelwald. I checked into the Hotel Belvedere— a cozy yet upscale spot with panoramic views of the Eiger and Wetterhorn. My room’s balcony became my office for three days, with the Jungfrau massif serving as the perfect backdrop. And surprisingly, Grindelwald’s Wi-Fi is solid. Cafés like Berggasthaus First and hotels like the Belvedere offer speeds up to 50 Mbps—more than enough for video calls, managing websites, or just staying connected.

What I really love about this place is the contrast in climate. During the day, the town offers beautiful, mild weather, perfect for working outdoors or taking in the scenery. Then, when you head up to the peaks—like Jungfraujoch—you’re greeted with snow and a winter wonderland. It’s incredible to be able to experience both in the same trip. This kind of environment energizes you and reminds you that the world’s diversity is right at your fingertips.

That’s one of the reasons I love returning here. Not only do I immerse myself in a luxurious, refined environment, but I can also get work done from virtually anywhere. All I need is my laptop and a reliable internet connection.

The Top of Europe

High Up to The Top of Europe

Of course, no trip to Grindelwald would be complete without visiting Jungfraujoch—the “Top of Europe” at 3,454 meters. I took the train from Grindelwald (about one hour, costing around 200 CHF round-trip) to this engineering marvel carved into the mountain. And the highlight? The Fünfländerblick viewpoint. Imagine this: France, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland all laid out like a giant map.

The Fünfländerblick isn’t just a breathtaking view—it’s a reminder that the world we think of as so vast is actually within our reach. It’s like looking at a shape of a hand, and realizing you can be wherever you want. Travel and explore—the places you visit can truly reshape your outlook and influence how you live your life.

All The Way Up

The Power of Choice: Why Where You Visit Truly Matters

At the end of the day, the places you choose to visit aren’t just random spots on a map—they are powerful influences that shape your mindset, habits, and your entire lifestyle. Every environment you immerse yourself in sends a message. It tells your subconscious what’s possible, and it can push you towards growth, success, or even stagnation.

That’s why it’s so important to be deliberate about where you go. It’s not only about visiting luxurious places that scream high standards; sometimes, it’s about seeking out environments with the right vibe—places that inspire you, energize you, or challenge you to be better. Whether it’s a vibrant city full of creative energy or a peaceful retreat that helps you reset, the key is to choose places that align with your vision and goals.

Remember, your environment mirrors your mindset. It either accelerates your growth or holds you back. So, select your destinations wisely, travel intentionally, and surround yourself with environments that help you live the lifestyle you desire. Because, in the end, where you go shapes who you become.

If you’re wondering where to go next, reach out to me. I’d be happy to share my favorite places and help you discover environments that can elevate your lifestyle.
